Mr. Abhaya Kumar – Chairman

A visionary entrepreneur,  Mr.Abhaya Kumar has over 4 decades of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry. He set up Shasun Chemicals and Drugs in 1976 (presently known as Strides Shasun Ltd) and steered the growth of the company to over US $ 200 million. He was the finalist of Ernst and Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2003 and has held a number of prestigious positions in the industry

He is a Chemical Engineer from Anna University who is trained in various skill sets by internationally acclaimed trainers. He pioneered the concept of Cord Blood Stem Cell Banking in India under the name “Life Cell”, a company that offers a comprehensive approach in the field of Stem Cells. He is associated with the Exnora International (NGO) and actively contributes to the same. In order to promote women’s education, he started Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women in T.Nagar, the busiest place of Chennai in the year 2005. He encourages start-up entrepreneurs by investing in highly technical and advanced technologies.

Mr. Mayur Abhaya – Managing Director

Mayur Abhaya is a modest and compassionate humanitarian dedicated to bringing world class quality products within the economic and geographic reach of top 100 pharmaceutical manufacturers worldwide, Mayur has a Masters in Biotechnology from Anna University, India and a postgraduate degree from the well known Northwestern University, USA.

He is Managing Director of LifeCell International and is instrumental in improving the access of Indian families to state-of-the-art preventive healthcare services. Established LifeCell Diagnostics, India’s most comprehensive diagnostic program for mother & baby care, offering preconception, prenatal and newborn testing services to address the challenge of high infant mortality rate in the country as well as promote health and wellness for generations to come.
